ME -

Hey all Alanah here! A 27 year old mum and fiancé living in Melbourne, Australia. I dare say I am one of the most easy going and bubbliest people you will ever meet. To sum up myself, my heart is too big and pours out to people who wouldn't pour back. My priorities stand with what I value most, family.

For many years now I have wanted to start this blog but didn't know where to begin or if people would be interested in my story. Though there are many illnesses and diseases out there, my struggle with psoriasis has not been easy. I'm writing to share my experience and reach out to my 'psoriosisters' (Whitney Simmons) and other psoriasis warriors out there struggling and wanting a listening ear. I call this a diary to express myself, to myself. Having had so much of this bottled up for many years, I feel grateful to finally have the voice that will be sharing this with you.

From what I remember, I was in primary school grade 4, when I first noticed a spot on my right ankle. Showing my dad, he instantly thought "Yep, you've got chicken pox lovey!". I thought to myself "Okay, this is an easy fix and I've just got to wait it out, I mean, all the kids in school have had it!". Little did I know the next day, the spots had spread like dominos and turned into white plaques rather than pea sized bumps.

After numerous doctor appointments and being told I have scabies and school sores, it came down to one dermatologist appointment to diagnose me with this incurable skin condition, psoriasis.

So here I am. This is me and this is my story

" Love yourself. Remember you have psoriasis, psoriasis doesn't have YOU. "
