WHERE AM I COVERED?

THE SCALPTURE -

3 words - ITCHY, SNOWING, FLAKEY.
If the rest of my body is clear for many years, my scalp psoriasis remains. The flare ups come in waves and when it does, as shown in the photo above, it is no exaggeration that it snows from my head! Lucky for me, I have an amazing hair dresser who is aware of my condition and acts normal when I have a flare. She'll just say "Scalp is a bit irritated today!" so I can only get a cut and wash without foils. However, when my scalp is clear and I do get coloured, a couple of days later my scalp is angry and before you know it, scalpture is back! For as long as I can remember, Elocon Lotion (a liquid), has treated my scalp and helped me manage it for many years. The relief when applying this is INDESCRIBABLE

AHH THE T#T#IES

Calling out to my girls out there, who know all about the under boob SWEAT! Friction sucks! If I could not wear a bra all day everyday, I wouldn't. Psoriasis on my breasts is not ideal. When the spots are itchy and irritated, they burn as they even reach the areola area. Unfortunately, this interfered with breast feeding my son for a period of time.

FUN (not!) FACT: I'm not contagious to you, I'm contagious to myself! The more I scratch and/or if I bleed, then rub or touch other parts of my skin, I'm creating a domino effect!

GUESS WHO'S BACK

Mmm the back is a tough one. Another area that suffers from friction with clothing and laying in bed. At the moment coming into summer, there are so many cute tops and bathers that I want to wear but choose not too. Back sweat at the gym, in bed or out walking in general, irritate these bad boys and they become super itchy. Some plaques are in the most awkward spots, that my arm can't reach and it drives me mental! I could sleep without a top on to let my back breathe, personally though, this isn't a favourite.

MY ARMOUR -

The body parts that are visible nearly everyday. Psoriasis on the arms are very common yet they make me look like a leopard. When I get psoriasis on my elbows and my biceps, I'd have to say those two are the most annoying places. Not sure why, but my elbow plaques get really hard, white and you just want to pick them off all the time. On the biceps, they get really lumpy, red and flakey. When applying ointment, it is a difficult spot to cover with cling wrap. Compared to my forearms, they take a bit longer to go down and often sting in the shower.

BREAK A LEG -

It's safe to say, I definitely battle with my legs the most. This photo of angry looking plaques, is a result of drinking alcohol. I honestly never drink it, maybe once in a blue moon and once I do, I wake up the next morning paying for it. Psoriasis on the legs suck because I want to show my legs off and wear cute dresses. I want to be able to be in public and get an up and down look because I look good, not because I have a skin condition. I miss being able to shave without trying to avoid the psoriasis and feeling how smooth my legs are after moisturising.

 PEACHY ASS -

Yeah this ain't a peachy situation. Another annoying area friction plays a big part of, making this one of the hardest places to keep under control. This is the worst that my bum has ever been and is probably equal to the armpits, in terms of spreading quickly. Obviously sitting on my bum everyday with underwear and clothes rubbing against my cheeks, the butt doesn't get much of a chance to breathe besides bedtime. It is a very angry area and is also an awkward place to put cling wrap, when applying my ointment.

WHAT A PITY -

Ouch is all I've got to say. Psoriasis under the armpit is also friction related and is that irritating, it can get painful! When I'm flared up here, I can't shave for nearly a week and the stinging sensation is s#it when I do! This area gets really red, lumpy and actually spreads quick if I don't attend to it asap. I never use spray deodorant, always roll on and it has been the best thing ever. My pits don't sting and the roll on acts as a moisturiser, with a nice scent hehe. No one likes B.O! 😮‍💨
